I Will Never Silence Her Name ❤️

Those are her little piggies resting in her daddy’s hands during her newborn photos - a precious memory I’m so glad to share with you.

I’ve heard people discuss many times how difficult it is to talk about their children or loved ones once they have passed. Not because it causes tears, but because when they mention their child’s name, there is a noticeable silence that suddenly surrounds them.

I, too, have noticed this. The mention of my child’s name often causes others to turn inward, become awkward, or grow silent. I get it - they aren’t sure how to respond. They know this is a profound loss, but they also know it is one they cannot fully comprehend.

I think somewhere down the road, that reaction changes you as a parent who has lost a child. You might notice yourself talking about them less, or only bringing them up when you’re around the people who already knew and loved them.

I’m not sure how others process their grief, but I know one thing about mine: I will never silence her name.

I could very well just speak it out loud to myself, but if there are others willing to listen, I am going to tell them about her. I’ll tell them about how amazing, fierce, brave, and strong she was. I’ll share how, even though she spent very little time here on Earth, she left a giant imprint when she passed.

She left that imprint on the people who had the chance to meet her - whether they spent many days by her side or only knew her briefly. But as her mother, if you never had the chance to meet her, I want to tell you her story.

And perhaps, through me, she can leave her imprint on you, too.
